In a number of places in the manuscript, a letter "v" was inadvertently included where a Greek nu () should have appeared. In Eq. [1] of the html version: "v > 1" should read " > 1". The caption of Table 3 should read "...and , together with the coefficients of variation (R²)." Following Eq. [4] in the passage where variables are defined, two variables are misidentified. Where it states "and _i and _j their standard deviations" the text should read "and _i and _j their standard deviations". In the first paragraph of the Results and Discussion section, the second sentence should be, "A notable exception is the very strong correlation between and for the plough layer." In the following paragraph, the fourth sentence should be, "The most extreme case was that of ; several relationships between K_s and with considerable correlation coefficients could be found for the plough layer, whereas for the subsoil, none of the applied transformations yielded R² values larger than 0.003.
