ERRATUM

Joint Distributions of the Unsaturated Soil Hydraulic Parameters and their Effect on Other Variates

Gerrit H. de Rooij, Roy T. A. Kasteel, Andreas Papritz and Hannes Flühler

Vadose Zone J. 3:947–955 (August 2004)

In a number of places in the manuscript, a letter "v" was inadvertently included where a Greek nu ({nu}) should have appeared. In Eq. [1] of the html version: "v > 1" should read "{nu} > 1". The caption of Table 3 should read "...and {nu}, together with the coefficients of variation (R2)." Following Eq. [4] in the passage where variables are defined, two variables are misidentified. Where it states "and {nu}i and {nu}j their standard deviations" the text should read "and {sigma}i and {sigma}j their standard deviations". In the first paragraph of the Results and Discussion section, the second sentence should be, "A notable exception is the very strong correlation between {alpha} and {nu} for the plough layer." In the following paragraph, the fourth sentence should be, "The most extreme case was that of {nu}; several relationships between Ks and {nu} with considerable correlation coefficients could be found for the plough layer, whereas for the subsoil, none of the applied transformations yielded R2 values larger than 0.003.

Equation [7] is formatted incorrectly in the html version. The correct equation is:

{vadzone1492eqn7}

The far right-hand side of Eq. [15c] was truncated in the html version of the article. The correct equation is:

[15c]
